The owners of 66 ToGo in Elk City, OK are turning to the community for help to avoid potentially having to close their dream business.
Marvin and Margarita Gorden opened 66 ToGo in Elk City in November 2020, envisioning it as a cornerstone for future growth along Historic Route 66. The Gordens worked hard to keep it afloat, but the business owners are running out of money and have faced a series of challenges that have made it harder to keep the doors open.
“When the time came to open November 27th, 2020, the oil field was in decline, ranching was in extreme drought and covid was amongst us. All we could do is work hard and hope for the best knowing it takes time for a new business to get established. After four years of subsidizing 66 ToGo at the rate of $5000 per month Margarita and I are running out of money. We have some very nice young people we care about and want to keep employed,” the GoFundMe organizer writes.
They’ve created a Go-FundMe to help the business stay alive and remain optimistic about the future of 66 ToGo.
