The most awe-inspiring aspect of God’s infinity is His love. Ephesians 3:18 19 describes God’s love as something that surpasses knowledge: “That you may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge.” Jesus’ voluntary death on the cross is the ultimate demonstration of God’s limitless love, as Romans 5:8 declares, “But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” His love knows no limits, offering grace and salvation to all who believe.
The concept of God’s infiniteness is foundational to Christianity, as it emphasizes that God is without limit in His love-nature, power, presence, and knowledge. The Bible consistently portrays God as immeasurable, transcending human understanding and the confines of time and space. His infiniteness forms the foundation for His sovereignty, holiness, and relationship with creation.
Psalm 90:2 declares, “Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.” This verse highlights God’s existence beyond the constraints of time, affirming that He has no beginning or end, unlike we humans, whose lives are bound and limited by time, God created time, but exists outside of it. Revelation 1:8 echoes this truth when God says, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.”
God’s power, or omnipotence, also reflects His infinity. Jeremiah 32:17 proclaims, “Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” The act of creation itself is a testament to God’s unlimited power. From the vastness of galaxies to the intricacies of human DNA, everything in creation points to the boundless power of the Creator. Jesus affirms this in Matthew 19:26, saying, “With God all things are possible.” There are no limits to what God can do within His righteousness.
God’s infiniteness also extends to His presence. He is omnipresent, meaning He is present everywhere at all times. Psalm 139:7-10 beautifully captures this truth: “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths of Sheol, you are there.” This passage illustrates that there is no place in all that He has created where God is absent. His presence pervades everything, assuring believers of His constant nearness and care.
God’s omniscience—His all-knowing nature— is further evidence of His infinity. Isaiah 40:28 states, “Do you not know? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and His understanding no one can fathom.” God’s knowledge is perfect and complete, encompassing everything from the grandest cosmic events to the smallest details of human life. Jesus affirmed this in Matthew 10:30 when He said, “And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Such intimate knowledge reveals a God whose wisdom and understanding are infinite.
Understanding God’s infiniteness calls for awe, worship, and trust. Isaiah 40:25-26 reminds us of His majesty: “To whom will you compare me? Or who is my equal?” says the Holy One. Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these?” This infinite God is not distant but intimately involved in His creation, inviting humanity into a relationship with Him.

media use, says Tom Cooper, PhD, author of How to Clear Your Mind and Invigorate Your Life in an Age of Media Overload. “Your family will become closer, you’ll save time, sleep better, feel healthier, and probably even lose weight.”
If technology is adversely affecting communication in your family, a media journal is a good place to begin reducing screen time. Dieters track food consumption to know what and where to cut back. Beginning a family media diet by tracking usage can be quite an eye-opener. We’re often unaware how much time we spend on the internet, TV, and texting. Keeping a record of when a device being used and for how long, will give each one a better idea of how time is being spent. After logging for five days, decide as a family how you can spend more time engaging without screens.
