Nine-Hole golf course in Sayre, now known as Sayre National, started a 2-Man, 36-Hole tournament a couple of years back. Bobby Martin, who is on the board of the men’s club had suggested they start one 4-5 years ago, and finally, in one of the board meetings in which Bobby was not present, the board decided to go ahead and start it… in a recognition of their friend and fellow board member, they simply named it “The Bob”… and there it started. This year, they had 140 golfers (35 4-Man teams) divided in 4 flights, and the competition could not have been better in each flight: “A”- 1st Heston Brown, Quint Nichols, Brooks Robertson, Logan Gore 110; 2nd Eddie Lakey, Danny Crabb, Ian Davis, Michael Bentley 115; 3rd Toby David, Kellin Sheets, Dakota Green, Bear Aneshansley “B”- 1st Cole Hammond, Kaleb Keith, Blake Ramirez, Travis Poole 123 (*); T2nd Denton Jones, Greg Simmons, Barry Christian, Ty Billy and Hunter Burrows, Ryde Burrows, Bailey Davis and Cody Cox (*) = This team was bumped from the “C” flight!
“C”- 1st Bobby Martin, Adam Perkey, Jacob Mayfield, Cody Varnell with 125 T2nd Cadan Calaway, Kelcee Calaway, Clark Calaway, Brandon Embery and Blake Brewer, Gabe Edney Jimmy Clark and David Emmot at 127 “D”- 1st Jay Manning, Chance Silas, Jason Kiener, Will Malloy 129; 2nd Marci Orr, Matt Orr, Levi Huntress, Chery Huntress 133; 3rd Tanner Hagerman, Caden Hardin, Kody Kilgore, Pete Drowhard 134.
Ladies are welcome to the tournament and a two teams with ladies took second place in their respective flight Marci Orr and Cheri Huntress played with their husbands matt and Levi and Kelcee Calaway played with her husband Cadan and father in law Clark. Way to go ladies!
