This isn’t an event held in Erick, but the Elk City Rodeo is coming up Friday, 8/29, through Sunday, 8/31. It rings in the Labor Day weekend, which is observed on Monday, 9/1. I know the schools have rodeo dress-up contests and everyone likes to go and enjoy this event.
Erick is also gearing up for the Purple People Eater Fest coming in September. There will be more to follow on this event in the coming issues.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Joyce Rumbaugh. Joyce was a resident for many years while her husband, Stan was the minister at the First Christian Church.
