Oklahoma Kids Can Name a Snowplow

Oklahoma Kids Can Name a Snowplow

Move over, Frosty — Oklahoma’s snowplows are about to get some personality.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) is letting students from kindergarten through 12th grade give names to 24 of the state’s big orange snowplows. Think of it as a winter twist on “name that mascot.”

Submissions run through September 15, and the public will vote on the best ones September 29–October 3. Winners will be announced October 10, and the winning names will be proudly plastered on the side of the snowplows before they hit the roads this winter.

And the fun doesn’t stop there: the students who win get a VIP photo op with “their” plow and an ODOT gear pack with goodies like a beanie, water bottle, and more.

Starting October 27, everyone will even be able to track the named snowplows online to see them in action. So whether it’s Plowy McPlowface, Snow Crusher, or Blizzard Wizard, ODOT is ready for Oklahoma kids to bring the creativity.

To submit a name, head to OKTraffi c.org.
