Rolling into world knowledge!
The Sweetwater 6th grade class has been working on learning the names and locations of the continents and oceans. They played a game to practice called “Roll a Map.” They took turns rolling one or two dice, and the number corresponded to a continent or an ocean. They would then place a token on it. The location had to have two of the same color to be frozen and not stolen by their partner. Whoever had more locations with two tokens won.
The students had so much fun learning which number on the dice matched their continents and oceans and hoping that their roll would get them the number they needed. It was a great way to make learning geography interactive and fun!
