The Southwest Oklahoma Regional Transportation Planning Organization (SORTPO) invites residents, community leaders, and stakeholders to attend upcoming public meetings to help finalize the Forward 45 Regional Transportation Plan (RTP).
Meeting Location: Broadway Center 210 N. Broadway Street Sayre, Oklahoma 73662 Date: Thursday, October 2 Time: 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM These meetings are regionally located to serve a 30-mile radius from each site—covering the largest population possible. You are welcome to attend any meeting in the series.
WHAT IS FORWARD 45?
The Forward 45 RTP is a comprehensive, 20-year strategic plan developed by SORTPO to guide transportation decisions across the ASCOG (Association of South Central Oklahoma Governments) region and the SWODA (South Western Oklahoma Development Authority) region.
Covering all modes of travel— roads, transit, biking, walking, and more—the plan focuses on: - Enhancing safety for all travelers - Improving transportation infrastructure - Addressing mobility needs for residents of all ages - Supporting economic growth and quality of life This plan will direct transportation priorities through 2045, creating a safer, more efficient, and more connected system across 16 counties.
WHY ATTEND?
These meetings are your opportunity to: - Learn about the planning process and priorities for the next 20 years - Share your ideas and local knowledge - Help build the “wish list” of projects that communities want to see prioritized in the final plan
