Sayre Chamber Humbled by Rodeo Support — and Excited for What’s Next

Sayre Chamber Humbled by Rodeo Support — and Excited for What’s Next
The barrelman finds his mark between events.

The Sayre Chamber of Commerce says it’s humbled once again by the incredible turnout, generosity, and community spirit surrounding this year’s Sayre Rodeo.

From sponsors and contestants to volunteers, vendors, food trucks, and families filling the stands, the Chamber extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s event such a success.

Organizers noted that attendance and enthusiasm were among the best in years, and the event closed out fully paid and financially positive — setting the stage for a strong year ahead. The Chamber hopes to carry that same hometown energy into the rest of the fall season, where plenty of community events are already lining up. *** Fall Festival — Saturday, Oct. 25 at 6:00 p.m. The first major stop on Sayre’s fall calendar will be the Fall Festival at the County Activity Barn — a family- friendly evening of games, bingo, food, and laughter.

Local businesses, school groups, and organizations are invited to host their own carnival-style fundraising games, from ring tosses to beanbag throws and cake walks. The goal is to bring everyone together for some lighthearted fun while giving local programs and clubs a chance to raise a little money of their own.

• Full details and sign-ups are available now on the Sayre Chamber of Commerce Facebook page.

The festival aims to bring everyone under one roof before the weather cools off — a relaxed way to celebrate community and connect with neighbors before the holidays. *** Halloween on Main — Thursday, Oct. 31 The fun will continue just a few days later with Sayre’s annual Halloween on Main. Downtown trickor- treating begins at 3:30 p.m., followed by the Costume Contest at 4:30 p.m. on the west side of the Courthouse lawn.

Age divisions will include 0–2, 3–5, 6–10, 11–15, and 16-and-up, with trophies and Sonic treats for winners. Businesses are encouraged to decorate, dress up, and help make Main Street a safe and festive stop for local kids. *** Downtown Lights — Early November Before the holidays arrive, the Chamber will turn its attention to one of Sayre’s favorite sights — the downtown canopy lights.

Volunteers will be needed during the first week of November to help extend the light strands to the opposite side of Main and replace a few bulbs from last year. The Chamber says the job goes quickly when enough folks pitch in — many hands make light work, and if we get enough, none of us will have to work very hard at all.

That’s the kind of community math everyone can get behind.

Details on the light-hanging schedule will be posted on the Chamber’s Facebook page as the date approaches. *** Hometown Christmas — Friday, Dec. 6 Not long after the lights go up, downtown Sayre will transform for Hometown Christmas.

The celebration will include vendors, local performances, and the traditional arrival of Santa by stagecoach. This year’s layout will again center around Courthouse Square, with food, crafts, and activities throughout the afternoon and evening.

Be sure to keep watching the Chamber’s Facebook page for vendor booth details, fee information, and Chamber member discounts as the event approaches.

THANK YOU, SAYRE

The Chamber expressed deep gratitude to everyone who supported this year’s rodeo and to all who continue to show up for local events, large and small.

Every time Sayre gathers — whether it’s under the arena lights, the courthouse trees, or a canopy of Christmas bulbs — it’s a reminder of what small towns do best: show up, work together, and celebrate each other.

The Chamber of Commerce meetings are open to the public, and memberships are available for both individuals and businesses. It’s a great way to get involved, share ideas, and stay connected to what’s happening in Sayre. Check out the Sayre Chamber of Commerce Facebook page for upcoming meeting dates and more information.
