The City of Erick and the Roger miller Senior Citizen Center, in conjunction with SWODA, have been awarded the funds once again to provide meals twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunchtime, beginning on 12/2. Contact City of Erick at (580) 526-3924 to sign up for pickup or delivery. The cost to participate will be $3.00 per meal requested. Meals will be served once again by Main Street Bakery and Café. Save the date on your calendar as the First Bank of Erick will be hosting their second annual Christmas Open House on Tuesday, 12/9, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. that day. They invite all to come and join them for cookies, punch, and fruit/meat trays. The kids will be brought over by bus from Erick Elementary to see Santa! Sign up for E-Statements to be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a Smart TV! If you already have E-Statements call us and let us know. There will also be chances to win gift cards for two adults and 2 children.
The Erick First Baptist Choir will be performing a short Christmas Cantata on Sunday, 12/21, during the 11:00 a.m. worship service. They invite anyone who loves to sing to join them if it won’t interfere with your own church services. Rehearsals will be every Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. until the 21st.
The City of Erick’s 11th Annual Toy Drive, sponsored by Erick Emergency Services, is in full swing right now. New, unwrapped toys for a special girl or boy, can be dropped off at City Hall, C & K, Kirk Feeds, Main Street Bakery and Café, First Bank, Erick Library or Dollar General. Contact City Hall for the deadline as I don’t know that information just yet. Toys need to be dropped off by December 12th. Monetary donations will also be accepted at City Hall or for your convenience, can be made online at the site where you pay your bill.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Mike Strickland. Services were held this past Tuesday 11/25, at the Erick Cemetery.
