She graduated from Oklahoma A&M in 1950 and married William Dean Strom of Perry. She laterearnedamaster’sde-greeinArtEducationfromOkla-homaStateUniversityin1969 whereshefoundherpassionforclayartsandpottery. Acelebrationofh erlifewasheld Friday, February 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Stillwater Church of Christ. She will be laid to rest at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry beside her husband.She was the sister of Dale Carpenter, and the late Don Carpenter and the late Stan Carpenter.
