Sayre Strong: Community Initiative hosted an event last Friday evening. With entries up to the last minute- literally one running through the door- our judges were pressed to pick their favorites! Each contender had the option to earn one bonus point by bringing a homemade cornbread or side of their choice. That bonus point was the game changer, as the winner was one single point above second place! Local judges ranged from a husband (because we all know the way to a man’s heart), our local tumbling coach, and a 10-yearold girl who knew she would need to be a “strict judge.” There were a lot of laughs to be had! Once the judging was over and the winners were announced, everyone present got to dig in! We were also able to pass out food to several teens and adults and took containers to Hutch’s to feed employees for the evening.
