Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Shamrock will be hosting their 78th Annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration this year beginning on Thursday evening, 3/12, and lasting through Sunday, 3/15. The carnival is open from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. beginning on Thursday, 3/12. Another one of the highlights that I know many Erick people go to besides the carnival will be the parade which will begin at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, 3/14, on Main Street. This is a fun event to kick off the spring break week for the kids! There are far too many events happening each day to mention in this column, but you can find the days and times of all the events listed at www.shamrockstpatricks. com.
The City of Erick and Roger Miller Senior Citizen Center, in conjunction with SWODA, have been awarded funds to provide meals twice weekly to individuals aged 60+ or handicapped/disabled persons. Donations are welcome and very much appreciated to help keep this service going as long as possible. Donations can be dropped off or mailed to Erick City Hall at PO Box 25, Erick OK 73645. Our sympathy and prayers go out to the family of Larry Morgan. Services were held yesterday, 3/13, at the Hope United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City.
