Applications must be received by the County Election Board no later than 5 p.m. Monday, March 18 th Roger Mills County Election Board Secretary Jana Maddux , said absentee voting is available to all voters and applications can be submitted several ways. “In Oklahoma, no excuse is needed to vote by absentee ballot, and it’s easy to apply! Voters registered in the Hammon School District can submit their application online, in-person, by fax, mail, or even email,” said Jana Maddux . Voters can also apply online using the OK Voter Portal at oklahoma.gov/elections/ ovp. Applications are also available at the County Election Board or can be downloaded at oklahoma.gov/elections. One Hundred Years Ago, March 1924
March was a month of measles and oil fever (neither fatal!). Both the Ira and Will Cain families suffered from measles; Will’s family had seven cases at once! Sweet Mistress Spring proved fickle by producing 4 1/2 inches of snow on the level. It snowed all of one day, but much melted as it fell. It was worth money to wheat and oats.
