National Beef Quality Audit Shows Efficiency Improvements
OKLAHOMA CITY – Since 1991, the Beef Checkoff-funded National Beef Quality Audit (NBQA) has delivered a set of guideposts and measurements for cattle producers and other stakeholders to help determine quality conformance of the U.S. beef supply. Results from the 2022 NBQA indicate that the beef cattle industry is producing a high-quality product that consumers want more efficiently and the industry’s primary focus across the supply chain remains food safety.

Elk City Sales Tax Numbers Rise
City Manager Tom Ivester shared the released sales tax numbers for June last week. The sales tax is up by four percent over this time last year, and the use tax was up by 22 percent. The total sales tax for the month was $1,241,55.65, compared the FY 22 sales tax at $1,190,626. The year-to-date total is $14,636,508.34, which is up by six percent from the FY 22 numbers.

Elk City woman charged with three felonies related to drug distribution and firearms
A 29-year-old Elk City woman is being held at the Beckham County Detention Center on a $20,000 bond after being charged with five criminal counts in the Beckham County District Court on June 12.
