To Fear Or Not To Fear
I get many questions about biblical “contradictions.” . The supposed contradictions are usually mixed with nagging anxiety. Wrong fear is like a fog that creates confusion and even more afraid-ness. A reader asks: “Dr. Dixie, the Bible tells us that we are to fear God, but on the other hand, not to be anxious. I often feel anxious when I think about God, so how can I be both fearful and not fearful? This seems like another time when the Bible contradicts itself!”

40th Annual Farm and Home Expo Exhibit Registration Open
The Southwest Farm and Home Expo will take place April 13th and 14th at the Elk City Convention Center. The Chamber of Commerce has open registration for the event. This will be the 40th anniversary for the event that continues to grow into a solid opportunity to showcase products and services in the region.

Commissioners Hear Kids Inc. Report and City Streetlight Issues
The Elk City Commissioners faced a full agenda during their mid-month meeting that was held Wed., Feb. 11th, at 2 p.m., in City Hall. All commissioners were present when Mayor Cory Spieker opened the meeting for a public hearing concerning dilapidated structures after the invocation and flag salute.
