JAKE SILK

Jake spent his early childhood in Russell, Oklahoma later moving with his family to Mangum where he attended school graduating in 1950. After graduation he attended Cameron University. He was working for his family when he married Minnie Marie (Hopkins) the same day she graduated high school on May 21st, 1953. Shortly after their marriage, Jake was draft into the United States Army where he served stateside, Newfoundland, and the Aleutian Islands before his discharge in 1955. Together they moved to Perkins, Oklahoma for a short period of time where Jake attended Oklahoma A&M University before moving to the family farm in between Sayre and Carter. Jake and Minnie Marie farmed, ranched and raised their family. Jake enjoyed fishing, camping, and tending cattle.
He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Sheila Silk; 4 brothers; 1 sister.
He is survived by his 3 sons, Jake (Butch) Silk II, Sayre, OK, Charles Silk and wife, Susanne, Sayre, OK and Brian Silk and wife, Sandra, Delhi, OK; 6 grandchildren, Jake Silk III and wife, Char, Elk City, OK, Jeremy Silk and wife, Makala, Blanchard, OK, Ashley Waddell and husband, Ryan, Piedmont, OK, Carson Silk and wife, Deana, Yukon, OK, Bandy Silk and wife, Amy, Delhi, OK and Brianne Silk, Delhi, OK; 17 great grandchildren, Jacob Silk, Josh Silk and wife, McKenna, Jace Silk, Bailey Pratt and husband, Sam, Karah Silk, Gentry Silk, Macey Waddell, Finley Wadell, Brooklyn Silk, Crew Silk, Jodi, Silk, Bella Silk, Beth Silk, Bleu Silk, Cody Vaught, Brady Vaught, Blaize Vaught, and Memphis Silk; 2 great great granddaughters, Ellis Silk and Noah Silk; and a host of other relatives and friends.
