GOD’S PLAN TO ERADICATE SIN
GOD’S PLAN TO ERADICATE SIN
Adam and Eve’s situation in Eden was different from ours. They were innocent, but had not been made righteous by the work of Jesus Christ. Romans 5:19 describes the work of atonement that makes us righteous: “For just as through the disobedience of the one man (Adam) the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one Man (Jesus) the many will be made righteous.” Recognizing that we will have the righteousness of Christ perfectly throughout eternity to keep those in Christ from sin. Receiving the righteousness of God completely delivers us from the power of sin for all eternity.
Even now, right here on earth, because “as He is, so are we also in this world (1 John 4:17), we are able to escape the corruption of the world caused by evil desires (2 Peter 1:4), by participating in God’s divine nature through salvation. In eternity, there will be no corruption caused by evil desires, and we will fully participate in the sinless perfection of God without fail.
In Scripture, we have the promise of a New Heaven and Earth (Revelation 21:4) where there will be no more death, mourning, crying or pain, because the old order of things has passed away. We know from Romans 6:23 that “the wages of sin is death”. No more death is a guarantee of no more sin. Sinners always die; therefore, since we have unending life, we know sin will not exist. Sin causes mourning, crying and pain. If those things no longer exist, we know that sin does not exist.
When the “old order” of things is gone, we know that a new order of things is in place. Mourning, crying, sin and death are a part of the old order that is forever gone. Scripture emphasizes that Jesus Christ died once for all time to deal with sin (Hebrews 9:26-27; 10:10; 1 Peter 3:18); He will never need to die again. Therefore, we know that sin will again exist in the new order of things.
We have been given the very righteousness of God Himself (2 Corinthians 5:21). We won’t sin in eternity for the same reason God doesn’t: He cannot sin, and our eternal freedom from sin has been purchased and sealed by the blood of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 21:27 tells us that nothing impure or anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful will ever enter; only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. It doesn’t say that if someone becomes shameful or deceitful, they will be evicted. We are told three times in the last two chapters of Revelation that those still in their sin have no access to heaven and never will (Revelation 21:8, 27; 22:15). Evil has no place in God’s presence and no power whatsoever to affect those who live there. We need never fear a second Fall. Romans 6:7: “Anyone who has died has been freed from sin.” Jesus Christ will not permit us to be vulnerable to the very thing He died to deliver us from. Since our righteousness is rooted in Christ, Who is eternally, unchangeably righteous, we can never lose, by sinning, the righteousness that is our eternal inheritance.

media use, says Tom Cooper, PhD, author of How to Clear Your Mind and Invigorate Your Life in an Age of Media Overload. “Your family will become closer, you’ll save time, sleep better, feel healthier, and probably even lose weight.”
If technology is adversely affecting communication in your family, a media journal is a good place to begin reducing screen time. Dieters track food consumption to know what and where to cut back. Beginning a family media diet by tracking usage can be quite an eye-opener. We’re often unaware how much time we spend on the internet, TV, and texting. Keeping a record of when a device being used and for how long, will give each one a better idea of how time is being spent. After logging for five days, decide as a family how you can spend more time engaging without screens.
