ALICE SHELTON

Alice “Lorene” Shelton was born on July 25, 1931 to Charles Griffin and Alice M (Lovett) Fronterhouse in Wellington, TX. She passed on June 28, 2025 at her home at the age of 93 years, 11 months, 3 days.

Lorene grew up in Wellington, TX and Plainview, OK as the youngest of nine siblings. She attended and graduated at Plainview Public Schools. After school, she moved to Erick and worked at Cals where she began her career as a cook. She worked at Sayre Memorial Hospital for 25 plus years as a cook before she retired. On September 5, 1953, Lorene married Roy Wesley Flowers and to this union 9 children were born Teresa, Dottie, Keith, Nathan, Randy, Roger, Lester, Gary, and Charlene. She married Dean Shelton on January 18, 1985.

Lorene loved to cook and everyone knew her for her cooking and baking skills. She also enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She loved Christmas time and all the decorating that came with it. Lorene always spent time with her family every chance she got, especially during the holiday seasons. She will be remembered for her kind soul and loving heart and she will be greatly missed by many.

Lorene is preceded in death by her husband Alfred Dean Shelton, parents Charles and Alice Fronterhouse, two sons Keith Flowers and Nathan Flowers, four brothers Hagan Fronterhouse, Himon Fronterhouse, Junior Fronterhouse, and Richard Fronterhouse, four sisters Ruby Fitzgerald, Opal Stinson, Alein Brown, and Arval Williams.

She is survived by her seven children Teresa Clabough and husband Ronnie of Sayre, OK, Dottie Street and Roy Varnell of Carter, OK, Randy Flowers of Sayre, OK, Roger Flowers and wife Geneva of Canute, OK, Lester Flowers of Sayre, OK, Gary Flowers and Brenda Leniger of Sayre, OK, and Charlene Holder and Gary Manning of Sayre, OK; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
