CHARLEEN WILSON

CHARLEEN WILSON

Charlene Wilson was born on January 18, 1945 to Charles and Josephine (Joseph) Giles in El Paso, TX. She passed on September 16, 2025 at the age of 80 years, 7 months, and 29 days.

Charlene grew up in El Paso, TX where she attended Austin High School. On July 1, 1962, she married the love of her life Jerry Wilson in El Paso, TX and to this union three children were born Jimmy, Gary, and Rusty. They lived in El Paso while Jerry was stationed at Biggs Air Force Base. In 1964, they moved to Cheyenne, OK. In 1975, they made their home in Erick, OK and in 1998 they moved back to Cheyenne. During this time, she worked at United Supermarket in Sayre, OK and Love’s Travel Stop in Erick. Her favorite job she held before she retired was working at Cheyenne Drug all because of Jaclyn Stephens and Gena Bryan. Charlene was kind hearted and a hard worker. She would help anyone she could and never knew a stranger.

In her pastime, Charlene loved to serve others. She loved to cook and clean. Her passion to serve others led her to serve on the Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce where she served as the president for a time. When hunting season came around, Charlene always went out to deer camp to make sure it was clean for the boys. Charlene and her special friend Charlotte Lucas enjoyed going to the casino together. Charlene’s greatest love was spending time and taking care of her family. She loved to cook big dinners, especially chicken and dumplings, when she knew the family was coming down. Her devotion to her husband, sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren was the center of her life. Her number one devotion though was to her Lord, Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of the Cheyenne First Baptist Church.
