The Sayre Eagle high school baseball team extended their conference schedule record to 5 wins no loses following two wins last week. The first win was at Cordell where the Eagles used a powerful performance on the mound by Rocky Willis who faced only 18 Blue Devil batters, striking out eleven and allowing only one hit in the 13 - 1 Eagle win. Ironically the hit he gave up was in the first inning and the batter made the circle to score the unearned run on a throwing error. 04/13/2024 04:00 AM

Both, boys and girls, played Weatherford on Tuesday March 26. It was a district game, and both teams lost 5-0. In the first game, the girls could not get past midfi eld with any offensive plays. It looked as if the team from Weatherford predicted exactly what Elk City had in mind in every play. Weatherford had a much greater defense and was well organized from midfield up, creating many goal opportunities. Jolee King, the Elk City girls’ goalie had at least three fabulous stops on the second half and was busy all night. 03/29/2024 10:00 PM
