Oklahoma Thunder is on top of the Western Conference by a mere ½ game over Minnesota Timberwolves and the Denver Nuggets. All three teams have 47 wins, however, Oklahoma has 20 losses versus 21 for Timberwolves and Nuggets. LA Clippers is five games behind. Season ends mid April and playoffs will start on April 20. SOCCER… AKA “Futbol”
Futbol is the team sport most played around the world, yet, it is not as popular in the United States. Many highs schools do not have a soccer team, let alone two, as Elk City High School has. Probably the reason is that sports fans think that futbol is boring because usually there are very few scores made, as it is not uncommon to have games of 0-0, 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1; but, in the opinion of fans, that is exactly what makes it interesting, because it is so difficult to score. Proudly, Elk City High School has both, a girls’ team and a boys’ team. The boys are coached by Jason Xenos, and the girls are coached by Zak Stamm. 03/08/2024 11:00 PM
