Merritt High School Earns Overall B in State Report Card
Merritt High School’s overall performance indicator for the 22-23 school year came in at 69 percent, while the state came in at 55 percent. The report card serves as an indicator of how the students are doing in a variety of areas. Those areas include academic achievement, graduation, chronic absenteeism, and postsecondary opportunities. MHS had no reportable data in the area of English language proficiency progress.

Fishing Report
SOUTHWEST Waurika: January 7. Elevation is 4 ft. below normal and falling, water temperature 47°F and murky. Largemouth bass and crappie slow on crankbaits, hair jigs, lipless baits, minnows, plastic baits, PowerBait, and small lures around brush structure, docks, main lake, points, rocks, and shorelines. Striped bass hybrids, white bass, and saugeye good on crankbaits, lipless baits, minnows, plastic baits, and small lures around docks, main lake, points, and rocks. Blue and channel catfish fair on cut bait, dough bait, minnows, shrimp, small lures, stinkbait, and worms around creek channels, docks, main lake, rocks, and shorelines. 2024 Beckham County Fair Board Election
Beckham County Fair Board Elections for the Fair Board Members ( One for each county commissioner’s district) will be held on Friday, February 2nd, 2024 from 1-4 P.M. The official filing period for the election is January 22nd, 2024 thru January 26, 2024 (which is the required five consecutive business days.) The elections will be held at the following location: Dist #1, Dist #2 and Dist #3 will all be held at the Beckham County Commissioner’s office, 301 E. Main St. (Courthouse Annex located in Old Northfork bldg North of courthouse) Only registered voters of Beckham County are eligible to file as a candidate. Any person filing must reside in the Commissioner’s District or city they seek to represent . Fair Board members serve a term of three (3) years. Anyone interestedin filing for the Fair Board should file with the Beckham County Clerk’s office at the Courthouse in Sayre. You will be given a form prescribed by the board of County Commissioner’s for Beckham County.
