SOUTHEAST Blue River: October 24. Elevation is below normal and stable, water temperature 64°F and clear. (USGS Lake Level) Largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass fair on crankbaits, jerk baits, spinnerbaits, and tube jigs around brush structure, channels, rocks, shorelines, and weed beds. Channel catfish fair on chicken liver, punch bait, and stinkbait around brush structure, channels, and rocks. Report submitted by Ethan Lovelace, biologist at the Blue River Public Fishing and Hunting SOUTHWEST Waurika: October 20. Elevation is normal and falling, water temperature 80°F and murky. Striped bass hybrids, white bass, and saugeye fair on crankbaits, lipless baits, plastic baits, and small lures around docks, main lake, points, and rocks. Largemouth bass and crappie fair on crankbaits, plastic baits, PowerBait, small lures, tube jigs, and worms around brush structure, docks, main lake, rocks, and weed beds. Blue and channel catfish good on chicken liver, cut bait, dough bait, minnows, and stinkbait around creek channels, docks, main lake, and rocks. Commissioners Approve Designs for ECPD Renovations and New ECFD Facility
Prior to opening the commissioners’ meeting, Western Technology Center’s Business and Industry Director, Danny Britton, presented Dr. Dennis Friesen with an appreciation plaque for his years of service as the medical doctor for WTC’s EMS program. The Commissioners congratulated him for his service, not only for this award but for the years of serving as the medical director for the Elk City Fire Department.

Wewoka man charged with first-degree burglary and use of a firearm while committing a felony in alleged Elk City assault
On October 13, an arrest warrant was issued for a Wewoka man in the Beckham County District Court after being charged with first-degree burglary and use of a firearm while committing a felony.
