Dietitians Experience Ranching, Learn Beef Nutrition
OKLAHOMA CITY (June 23, 2023) – Nutrition Adventure aims to clear beef industry misconceptions, connect dietitians with producers and provide applicable science and skills to dietitians nationwide. This three-day Beef Checkoff -funded program, held May 23-25, is co-hosted by the Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Missouri state beef councils.

True Freedom
Americans enjoy the Fourth of July with fireworks, time away from work, and a nationwide display of American flags. This fun and excitement is the celebration of freedom. “Freedom” means different things to people. To some, it’s the privilege of voicing opinions and voting our choice for public office. To a prison inmate, it’s the ability to live without constant supervision. To one confined by a debilitating illness, freedom means good health.

Elk City man jailed with multiple felonies, including gun charges
A 30-year-old Elk City man has been released from the Beckham County Detention Center on a $7,500 bond after being charged with reckless conduct with a weapon, discharging a firearm in a public place, felon in possession of a firearm, and disturbing the peace by drunk and disorderly behavior.

Commissioners Adopt New Budget and Hear Aquatic Center Numbers
The Elk City Commissioners met Wed., June 21st, at 2 p.m. in City Hall to conduct their regular monthly business. Mayor Cory Speiker gave the invocation while Rick Shelton led the flag salute. Before they opened the meeting for business, the commissioners held a public hearing for annexation as advertised.
